April Sound students go the acclaimed Montgomery Independent School District schools. Respected academically for its innovative approach to education, the district boasts Gold Performance Acknowledgements from the Texas Education Agency in a variety of areas, including its number of college-ready graduates and scores on the writing and social studies portions of state-mandated tests. Nearly three-quarters of graduating students take college entrance exams, with their average SAT score of 1500 easily topping average state scores. Helping students shine academically is a ratio of 15.5 students per teacher. Montgomery ISD teachers have an average of 14.1 years of teaching experience and nearly 20 percent have earned advanced degrees. The school district also is recognized for its financial management practices, with Montgomery ISD receiving a superior achievement rating annually since the Texas Education Agency implemented the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas.
Montgomery ISD schools include Lone Star Elementary, Montgomery Intermediate (fifth grade), Montgomery Middle School (sixth grade), Montgomery Junior High (seventh and eighth grades) and Montgomery High School.
